What is EPS-Concrete Blocks:

EPS-Concrete blocks are not like ordinary cement-based blocks. It has been made in an automatic processing plant with German technology. EPS granules are expanded, mixed with high-quality OPC cement, water, and special chemicals to produce blocks of different sizes and densities. We are manufacturing blocks with a density of 450kg/m3, which is idle for internal and external walls; however, we can make blocks and other EPS-Concrete products from 150 to 650kg/m3 as per requirement.
The material can also be used for casting floors, roof slopes, and insulation blocks.
There is an ongoing global shift in trend towards EPS-Concrete Products usage discarding traditional alternatives. However, as similar kinds of products are not yet recognized in Nepal, we are glad to introduce and offer our products. It would be our pleasure to help you shape your construction. Advantages of EPS-C Block

Lightweight

EPS- Concrete blocks are 4 times lighter than traditional red clay bricks and 30% lighter than AAC blocks. Because of its lightweight property, it reduces dead weight and the consumption of steel as well.

Less water absorption

The water absorption rate of the EPS-Concrete block is less than 5%, while the traditional red clay brick has more than 15% and AAC block above 50%. Therefore there will be no seepage problem if jointing has been done properly.

Fire Resistance

The raw materials used to make EPS-Concrete blocks are fire retardant grade. They hold up flames for 4 to 6 hours at a stretch. They do not emit any toxic fumes during such hazards.

Thermal Insulation

Thermal conductivity rate of EPS-Concrete block grade D450 is 0.10 W/m*K. Therefore it keeps the room warmer in winter and cooler in summer. Energy consumption will be reduced.

Sound Reduction

A 300mm EPS-Concrete block can reduce up to 70dB sound. The sound absorbing property enhances the quality of living spaces.

Minimum Breakage

Breakage in bricks might be 15% and in AAC blocks 5% which in case of EPS-Concrete block is less than 1%.

Earthquake Resistance

EPS-Concrete blocks are lighter and they absorb and transmit the minimum force of seismic vibrations. They fulfill the requirement of high-risk earthquake zones.

Eco-friendly Product

No harmful raw materials are used while producing EPS-Concrete blocks. Due to its environmental friendliness and carbon free manufacturing, it is highly recommended for green buildings.

Cost effective

Because of its lightweight property it reduces the dead weight of the building. This translates to design of lighter structures leading to reduction in steel and concrete up to 30%.Well shaped blocks lead to minimum use of plaster and bigger in size minimize number of jointing. Thus overall mortar savings will be up to 60%.Easy handling and fast construction lead to minimizing labor costs as well.

User Guidelines

Cutting of blocks

EPS-Concrete blocks can easily be cut either using a hand saw for wood or a jigsaw.

Curing of wall

Curing is required only for conventional mortar joints.

Wetting of blocks

Moisten the top and sights of the blocks slightly before completing application.

Leveling

Vertical and horizontal level should be maintained properly. Mallet hammer can be used to strike.

Sill and Lintel beam

Sill beam with 2 numbers of 8mm reinforcement  after every 4 feet height of the wall is required. Lintel support with full blocks in all windows and doors needed.

Chase cutting for Electric and sanitary works

We recommend chase cutting for electric and sanitary works with blocks thickness 6” and more. Electric hand grinders and chisels can be used.

Mortar for masonry

We recommend special ready-mix mortar for jointing. The thickness of the mortar not to exceed 2-3mm. The alternative will be conventional mortar; cement and fine sand with a ration of 1:5 thickness of mortar should be 8 to 10mm.
